Critical to effective accountability is the role that parliaments play in financial oversight. The Westminster Consortium programme, in collaboration with the UK's National Audit Office, has been working with parliaments to strengthen their oversight role. This session considers three case studies: strengthening committees of accountability in Uganda and introducing Value For Money reports; establishing a technical cabinet in Mozambique to increase support to committees; and the Moroccan Parliament's ongoing journey towards enhancing financial oversight.
Speakers include: Mr Najib El Khedi, Secretary General, Moroccan House of Representatives
Jonathan Enamu, Researcher Accountability Committees, Ugandan Parliament
Felizberto Mulhovo, Former Programme Manager, WFD Mozambique
