In this document Mr. Sarith, the Secretary General of the Senate of Cambodia, shares the experiences received from the evaluating process of the Senate. The evaluation was undertaken to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the Cambodian Senate over ten years, relating to its three key functions: Legislation, Oversights and Representation. It was also conducted to see what has been successfully achieved and what has not, and to consider deeper reform of the implementation of these functions, which shall enable the Senate to come into line with the standard of democratic parliaments. The Secretary General outlines the tools used for evaluation and the outcomes. He then makes some recommendations to both the Senate and the Secretariat General.
