Enhancing the role of parliaments in accelerating the achievement of the SDGs: Taking forward the UNGA resolution

Jointly organized by the IPU, the UNECE and UNESCAP, the event will follow up on the recently adopted UNGA resolution 77/159 which, in a historic first, recognizes the essential role of parliaments to bring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to life through their powers.

Through the prism of SDG 7 (“Affordable and clean energy”) - one of the Goals that will be reviewed at the 2023 High-level Political Forum – parliaments will have the opportunity to engage in discussions to take forward the abovementioned UN resolution and maximize SDG implementation by leveraging individual SDGs and their related interlinkages.
