This publication has been designed to assist elected represenatives with practical approaches and concepts for organizing and conducting constituent relations work. It is based on the lessons learned from real-life experiences of legislators from all over the world, from Afria and Asia, to Latin America, the Middle East, North America and Europe. Although the guide is primarly targeted toward national level legislators, the approaches and strategies described are likely to be relevant for sub-national legislators, as well as political parties, civil society organizations and citizens. An effective constituent relations strategy requires that all of these key actors be engaged in the process, and all of them can benefit.
