This annex is designed to assist those involved in poverty reduction strategies with identifying and implementing activities and programs that will integrate existing democratic institutions, namely the national assembly or parliament, into poverty reduction efforts, thus strengthening the impact and sustainability of each country’s PRSP. For ease of use, it has been organized in keeping with the PRSP cycle. Consequently, sections two, three, four, and five address opportunities for legislative involvement in poverty diagnosis, policy formulation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, respectively.
