This document analyses the nature of African conflicts, to identify components of peace-building strategies, to search for ways and means to promote democratic values and peace as mutually reinforcing developments, and to discuss the role for parliamentarians and parliamentary institutions in managing conflicts and consolidating peace, when and where possible.
