Based on the recommendations of the participants' in Regional Parliamentary Seminar on Parliamentary Rules of Procedure held in Rabat 2007, the initiative organized a focus group meeting on 25-26 April in Beirut. This meeting, which was attended by parliamentarians and experts from eight Arab countries (Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Yemen), provided an overview of the points of strengths and weaknesses in the rules of procedures of Arab parliaments and highlighted the areas of reform and the measures that these parliaments have taken in this area.
