This study concentrates on the nexus between the separation of powers and the legislature’s budgetary authority in selected countries with different forms of government, from the presidential systems to the parliamentary monarchy. The sample includes the Nordic countries and a few Asian and Latin American countries. The overriding objective is to highlight the link between the degree of separation of powers and the legislature’s budgetary powers.
