A capacity building workshop for parliamentarians from ECOWAS member states.  The workshop aimed to sensitize parliamentarians on international, regional and subregional instruments on small arms and light weapons control and provide the opportunity for interaction among the various levels of governance in the security sector. The workshop had also as  an objective to give parliamentarians a better insight into their roles in the development of national legislations and  adaptation as national laws international, regional and sub regional instruments on small arms and light weapons as well as the revision of the prevailing regime for the control of such arms.
