Agreement to create the AGORA Portal for Parliamentary Development during the First Donor Coordination Meeting on Parliamentary Development, organized by the UK Department for International Development, the United Nations Development Programme, and the World Bank Institute.
March 2010
Launch of AGORA at the French National Assembly during the Third Donor Coordination Meeting on Parliamentary Development as a platform which facilitates donor coordination and secure exchange between parliamentarians.
March 2013
Relaunch of AGORA as a knowledge platform, designed as a flexible tool and a meeting space used by Parliamentarians, parliamentary staff and the community of practice in order to facilitate information exchange.
November 2017
Creation of the project corner of Pro PALOP-TL SAI which promoted economic governance in ACP Portuguese Speaking Countries (PALOP and Timor-Leste) and strengthened the technical and functional competencies of the Supreme Audit Institutions, Parliaments, and Civil Society.
September 2019
Agreement to renew the AGORA Portal during a consultation process with past and prospective partners initiated by the European Commission and International IDEA, as part of the INTER PARES project. Joining of Westminster Foundation of Democracy as a funding partner of AGORA.
November 2020
Launch of the new version of AGORA which aims to centralise and share knowledge on parliamentary development and develop and showcase high-quality resources providing technical support to parliaments and relevant information to the community of practice and academia.
