The National Parliament of Solomon Islands experiences a number of problems that limit its ability to assist the Government in its commitment to adopt best practices of good governance. This report details those problems and provides a legislative needs assessment, focusing especially on the complex demands and challenges of parliamentary rule in post-conflict situations. The report provides a substantial list of recommendations that should help the Solomon parliament strengthen its capacity and play a more significant role in post-conflict reconstruction.
