The Arms Trade Treaty at 10 - Parliamentary engagement for a world free from armed violence
The IPU celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), which entered into force in 2014, with a webinar dedicated to promoting its universalization and effective implementation. The ATT regulates international trade in conventional weapons to prevent illicit flows that fuel violence and human rights abuses. Despite its potential, global adoption remains limited, partly due to persistent myths and misconceptions. This webinar will bring together parliamentarians for a panel discussion with experts, emphasizing their essential role in advocating for the ATT universalization, driving ratification and implementation to enhance peace, security, and responsible arms control worldwide.
