Parliaments and Beijing +30: Resisting backlash and shifting paradigms towards gender equality

The Parliamentary Meeting, themed "Parliaments at Beijing +30: Resisting Backlash and Shifting Paradigms Towards Gender Equality," will mark the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. It will provide a space for parliamentarians worldwide to counter setbacks, reinforce commitments, and drive policies promoting gender equality, women's rights, and parity in decision-making.

Additionally, the IPU is hosting a side event on "Social Norms Change, Networking, and Global Advocacy to Advance Women’s Political Participation and Decision-Making." This event will take place on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:15 (New York time) in the ECOSOC Chamber, with interpretation available in Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.
