International IDEA hosted the online launch of the Report "Democractic Engagement after Two Summits for Democracy - Reviewing the Impact and Providing some Reflections for the Future". The report is the result of the work during the last few months, where International IDEA has been examining available Summit data to reflect on the outcomes of the Year of Action and the Second Summit.

The report is assessing the verbal statements and self-reports on commitment implementation by participating states, the work of the Democracy Cohorts during the year of action and their achievements and contributions to the second Summit, as well as the role and impact of civil society to the Summit process. It also sets out a number of long and short-term recommendations to various stakeholders, to Summit organisers, governments, civil society and the Democracy Cohorts in preparation for the third Summit.

Following the presentation of the key findings of the report, International IDEA discussed together with representatives of governments, civil society organisations, and members of Democracy Cohorts the lessons learnt from the year of action and the second Summit as well as opportunities for shaping an inclusive and effective third Summit for Democracy.
