The themes dealt with hereinafter are: (i) European codification, possible and desirable?; (ii) Preserve and improve the legislative ‘acquis communautaire’; (iii) Democratic legitimacy of European codification; and (iv) Flanking measures to prepare and accompany codification.  It is proposed to set up an independent European law commission and an equally independent European curriculum commission.
