This report details the findings of the CPA-DFID conference held in the Gambia on Legislative Strengthening in West Africa.  It lists the following aspects in particular as requiring urgent attention: Members ‘constituency responsibilities; the role of Parliamentarians in combatting corruption; Engaging National Assembly Members in Formulating the Poverty Reduction Strategy Plan; the National Assembly and the Budget Process; Parliamentary oversight mechanisms and poverty reduction strategy paper monitoring.
