Conducted by the National Democratic Institute’s Elections and Political Processes Team, this research aims to support citizen election observation and the Global Network of Domestic Election Monitors (GNDEM). Sustaining Democracy Through Citizen Election Monitoring: Insights from Global Organizations examines key trends, best practices, and common challenges faced by citizen election monitoring groups as they work to strengthen democracy in their countries. The study draws on interviews with organizations from a diverse range of countries, including Armenia, Colombia, Croatia, the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Guinea, Kosovo, Lebanon, Malaysia, Moldova, the Philippines, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Ukraine, and Zambia.
