Fighting corruption is emerging as an important U.S. foreign policy objective, and USAID anti­corruption programs are expanding. This USAID strategy builds on the Agency’s experience and provides an opportunity to further advance its leadership. Corruption is now seen unequivocally as a major barrier to development, and reducing it a top priority. USAID has made important advances but must expand its approaches to fighting corruption and this is the main topic of discussion in this work.
