Fighting corruption is emerging as an important U.S. foreign policy objective, and USAID anticorruption programs are expanding. This USAID strategy builds on the Agency’s experience and provides an opportunity to further advance its leadership. Corruption is now seen unequivocally as a major barrier to development, and reducing it a top priority. USAID has made important advances but must expand its approaches to fighting corruption and this is the main topic of discussion in this work.
