In recognition of the increasing awareness and aspirations of civil society in governance related matters, the Government indicated at the last CGI Meeting (1998) that it would accord high priority to good governance. Alongside, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) adopted an Anticorruption Policy in July 1998 to guide its anti-corruption efforts. The purpose of this brief paper is to summarize the progress made so far in combating corruption in Indonesia and outline a course for future action.
