When asking 'What is the role of a Member of Parliament' we could start the discussion in a number of different ways. The author suggests that focus should be on the work of an MP and ask what it means for the nature of the job itself? In other words, why don't we look at what MPs actually do and then seek to see what it may mean for our system overall?
