This study is a result of a joint initiative of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) to produce a document at the regional level to assess the situation of Parliaments in relation to gender sensitivity and the evidence of good practice, of which remains to be seen in the parliamentary institutions in Latin America.
