The Cape Town Principles for an Informed Democracy, established by the Indian Ocean Rim Conference on “Parliament and the Media: Securing an effective relationship”, are a set of principles to guide societies in developing fully informed democracies. Those principles have been proposed by Commonwealth Parliamentarians and media professionals on a meeting in South Africa.
